What did life look like before you focused consistently on nutrition and fitness?
Growing up, I was always very active. Boating and sports were my favorite past times. After my daughter was born, there was still time for a lot of activity. It was when my boys came along that time as a mama took over all other time. Three little people under three at times meant survival mode. It meant little time for much other than feed, change diapers, sleep, repeat. It also meant eat whatever was fast and easy. Bedsides the lack of time, my body was shot. The boys took my body over. After they arrived coming in at 7 pounds 9 ounces and 6 pounds 11 ounces, I wondered when my body would feel strong and heathy again.
What made you decide to make a change?
I dabbled in working out when time permitted. I would meet a friend at a 24 fitness facility if the kids were in bed.
I found a Zumba class that I liked, but then she moved. When my family and I moved, I met Mary (Snyder).
She would rave about this place called the Warehouse. She finally convinced me to come to attend a Zumba class with Jeanine the machine and I never looked back!
What has changed (race times, blood work, attitude, etc)?
The Warehouse has made me feel strong and healthy again! It is the place I look forward to visiting usually four times a week! Even if my kids are with, I still feel it is my time to focus on my health. I am a better mother, spouse, friend, teacher, etc. The warehouse is a community that creates strong-minded, strong-willed and I will always be grateful!
