“Tales From the Member Trenches”
So, I have shared our family's experiences with food sensitivities with you in the previous post. By ELIMINATING foods that cause troublesome issues, and looking at our food as fuel, our game has changed. Have you considered looking at your FOOD as FUEL? Do you have the will power and the DRIVE to live a better life? When you can get your mind around the "Food is Fuel" concept, all of the clouds and confusion are suddenly GONE! The advertisements, coupons, and freebies are no longer a temptation, and your kitchen is packed with foods that make you and your family feel more fit, active, strong, energetic, and ALIVE!
Would you put diesel fuel into your luxury car's engine? NO WAY!!!!! Then why are you putting the wrong fuel into your body's fuel tank? Think of your body as a luxury car! Treat it as such! You have all heard that comparison before, right? Now, is your chance to officially wrap your brain around this concept and DO SOMETHING.
Have you ever considered buying EXCLUSIVELY what is right for you and your family? Why continue falling for the ridiculous marketing schemes offering freebies and BOGOS? I talk to so many clients on a daily basis who say, "Well, they were on sale, so I had to buy them." As they say this, they are standing there, red in the face, justifying their purchase of a GINORMOUS barrel of cheese puffs. Really? Was someone holding a gun to your head at the grocery store forcing you to buy them? Did I miss something? Is the store circular your nutritionist/meal planner???
By the way, this same client just expressed to me how drained, overweight, and unhappy they feel. Could those feelings have anything to do with the garbage that they are eating day in and day out? At this point I usually ask, "have you considered how difficult it is for your body to process "cheese" puffs, and other chemical laden foods?" Most people are quickly silenced by my bold remark, and they shake their heads with a barely audible "no." For the people that know me, personally, you know that I am a very sensitive person. I am only bold when ABSOLUTELY necessary. This is a time that I HAVE to be bold. When conversing with clients about their food, it is so difficult. People are VERY emotionally attached to their food. 9 out of 10 people just tune out during our food conversation. Keep in mind, these are the very same people who hired me to help them, and I can see them just glaze over during our appointment. Most people truly aren't ready for real CHANGE. It is only the people who are truly SERIOUS about wanting to get healthy, that lean forward, tune-in, and begin to make positive changes for themselves and their family. It's OK that you don't know everything about food, just open your mind. I don't know everything about building a house, cutting hair, or programming a computer. That is why I turn to the experts when I need something in that area of my life; when they talk, I listen. When they tell me what I need to do, I do it.
OK, so let's head back to cheese puffs. Do I think there should never EVER be another cheese puff in your house ever again? NO! Just make better, cleaner, and healthier choices when you buy foods that are not technically "FUEL." For example, I buy Pirate's Booty for the kids. They get a treat and it is not sabotaging their health. I don't care if it costs $2 more. I will spend more money on high quality foods. It is a no-brainer!!! If you don't spend your money on good quality foods, mark my words, you WILL spend it at the doctor's office and the pharmacy later.
Your call to action:
1. Look at what you are eating. ASK yourself this question: "Is this Fuel?"
2. For one week, consider buying ONLY the foods that FUEL you.

I have also attached a video to this post because this woman's experience is thought provoking! Did you know there was such a thing as ALCAT testing? Do you think if you had an ALCAT test, you would be more equipped to make better choices when it comes to nutrition?
